About Our Beachfront Bicheno Accommodation

Beachfront path leading from Cooinda holiday house to Waubs Bay beach.

While on a trip to Tasmania’s East Coast, Jeremy and Rhonda fell in love with Bicheno. After many return visits over the years, they decided to fulfil their dream of having their very own hidden gem on the East Coast to call their own and cast around in search of their very own slice of paradise.

They discovered a copper, spotted-gum-wrapped home perched at the peak of a sand dune just minutes from town, and that was that—that is Cooinda.

Rhonda and Jeremy love Aboriginal artwork, which can be seen throughout this beachfront Bicheno accommodation. Inspired by our traditional custodians, Jeremy and Rhonda named their haven ‘Cooinda’, meaning ‘happy place’. This name echoes the wonder and freedom shared by Jeremy and Rhonda, as well as the generations of stories that have graced this stretch of Lutruwita’s coast, held dear by the Palawa community.
